Finchley & Golders Green MP visited pupils at Bishop Douglass School last Friday, to congratulate the School on its historic exam success over the summer.
The Catholic School in East Finchley recorded its best ever set of GCSE results, with 81% of pupils securing an A*-C in English and Maths. Impressively, 48% of students gained either an A* or A in Religious Education.
The success of the School was owing to the hard work of the pupils, teachers, parents but also Bishop Douglass’ new Headteacher, Martin Tissot, who has been in the post since 2014.
Commenting on the success, Mr Freer said: “These are really brilliant results of which teachers, students, pupils and parents should be incredibly proud of.”
He added: “Barnet has some of the best schools in the whole country, and I am proud to see the way in which Bishop Douglass has progressed in just a few years. I congratulate Martin and his entire staff for working so hard in improving the learning experience at the School.”
