Mike Freer MP is today celebrating the announcement by Starbucks that their Golders Green store is to have full disabled access following refurbishment. The announcement comes after Mike Freer lobbied local businesses to improve their disabled access along with local campaigner, Matthew Kayne. Matthew contacted Mike Freer to raise concerns over the difficulties disabled customers had in accessing stores on Golders Green Road.
Speaking after the announcement, Mike commented “I contacted a number of businesses in Golders Green, including Starbucks, who were not as disability-friendly as they could be. I am delighted that Starbucks have listened to my campaign, and agreed that full disabled access should be provided. I look forward to visiting the refurbished store which can now be enjoyed by everyone”.
Starbucks’ announcement means they have joined Café Nero in providing full access for diabled customers in Golders Green. The refurbishment is set to commence in September, giving the store a complete overhaul.
