Mike Freer and the Mayor of Barnet, Melvin Cohen, held an event at the House of Commons on the 11th of October in aid of Help for Heroes and Kisharon, a local charity for Jewish people with learning difficulties.
The event was a resounding success with 70 guests attending. Attendees included Beverley Jacobson, Chief Executive of Kisharon, and a representative from the London Regiment. Following the fundraising event, guests were given a tour of the House of Commons by Mike Freer.
Commenting on the event, Mike said “I’m delighted to be able to host this event in aid of two excellent charities. Help for Heroes do excellent work in supporting wounded troops and Kisharon’s work with adults who have learning disabilities is well known across the Borough”.
The event takes place annually on behalf of the Mayor’s Charity Appeal Committee. Two charities are chosen by the Mayor to receive monies raised.
