Local MP, Mike Freer, today attended a meeting he helped facilitate at the Department of Health between Chief Executive of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, Sir David Sloman, Chair of the Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group, Dr Debbie Frost, and the Secretary of State for Health, the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt MP.
Speaking afterwards, Mike said “I was delighted to take Sir David and Dr Frost to meet Jeremy Hunt. It was good to discuss plans for an expansion of services at Finchley Memorial Hospital, including my proposal for a permanent breast screening unit, as well as how to tackle the pressures facing our local NHS.”
Mike has long been campaigning for the installation of a permanent breast screening unit at the Finchley Memorial Hospital. Plans for such a unit were agreed in principle last year.
