Local MP, Mike Freer, recently hosted a fundraising event at the House of Commons in aid of the London Regiment Welfare and Benevolent Fund. The event, which took place on the 10th of March, was attended by members of the London Regiment and supporters of the Fund.
Mike Freer said after the event “the London Regiment Welfare and Benevolent Fund is an excellent charity who support both inured troops and their families. I am delighted to be able to welcome them to Parliament in aid of their valuable work”.
The London Regiment Welfare and Benevolent Fund raise money to support troops and families who are injured or deployed abroad. Their work is wide-ranging and includes organising social events for the families of soldiers serving in Afghanistan and sending items to soldiers stationed abroad.
