This month, Mike Freer MP hosted members of Barnet’s Iranian Community in Westminster. The event, which was held with Iranian constituents, was designed to foster stronger links between Mike Freer and the community. During the event, issues such as Camp Ashraf and support for the Iranian Opposition were discussed.
Mike Freer commented “Barnet has a sizeable Iranian Community, many of whom have been here for decades. I am keen to work together with Anglo-Iranian constituents on issues of concern and look forward to forging closer links between us in the future.”
There are over 7,000 residents of Barnet who were born in Iran making it one of the UK’s largest communities. The Iranian Community Centre is located on Friern Park in North Finchley which provides advice to Farsi speakers.
