MP, Mike Freer, visited the Barnet Elderly Asians Group (BEAG) last Thursday, during one of their regular lunches at their community hub located at Friary House. The organisation is a charity that prides itself on supporting elderly Asians across the Barnet area, with a view to tackling isolation experienced by elderly Asians. BEAG also provides those who are either disabled or vulnerable with a place to go where they can meet with other members of their community and take part in activities together in a culturally sensitive environment. As a key advocate of the Group, Mike Freer was invited to meet with its members and learn more about the work being undertaken by BEAG. On Friday, Mr Freer was invited to a lunch event hosted by the BEAG in Parliament. Following the lunch, Mr Freer gave the BEAG members a tour of the Palace of Westminster. Speaking about the BEAG Group Mr Freer said: “It is always a pleasure for me to meet with BEAG. They serve to improve the lives of so many in Barnet and I am thankful to Parmodh Sharma for being so welcoming.”
