Mike Freer MP has welcomed official confirmation that building work is now underway on the new permanent breast screening unit at Finchley Memorial Hospital, replacing an old mobile unit. The hospital have just released the first image from inside the construction site (pictured).
Commenting, Mike said, “I’m thrilled by this news; my long campaign for a permanent breast screening unit to be built at Finchley Memorial Hospital is beginning to bear fruit. This is very good news for women and their families in our area. Early diagnosis is key to improving breast cancer survival rates and this new unit will help with that aim.”
The unit is expected to open later this year.
