There are proposals being put forward by Community Health Partnerships (CHP) to build 130 new homes on the green space bordering Granville Road and Bow Lane which is currently part of Finchley Memorial Hospital.
The plans outline that the 130 homes will include 50% affordable housing and suggests 50% exclusively available for NHS workers. The proposals also show that the buildings will range from three to six storeys of accommodation.
Whilst I am in favour of new, affordable housing in the area, and plans to designate a proportion of homes to NHS workers is laudable, I personally feel the current plans are out of keeping with the local area. I object on grounds of height, density, loss of amenity. There is also no guarantee that the units can be sold or rented to NHS workers or that there is a mechanism for returning them for rent should the occupant leave NHS employment.
I would encourage you, and your household, to look further into the proposals and leave your feedback on the development’s website, so that your views can be taken into account. You can do this at: https://finchley.homesforNHSstaff.co.uk.
