Today, Mike Freer MP hosted day 2 of his annual Summer School for local pupils in his Finchley-based constituency office. Yesterday, they were in Parliament, touring the Palace, watching a debate, grilling one of his colleagues from the Government Whips office, and finally visiting the Supreme Court.
Today, the hard work began – the pupils designed and delivered leaflets inviting local people to drop by a ‘Health MOT’ stall in the carpark of the Ballards Lane branch of Waitrose on Friday 27 July. The stall will have health professionals on hand offering people free non-invasive health checks, such as blood pressure, pulse, and blood sugar checks, and general advice about other health factors.
Tomorrow, the Summer School will head back to Parliament and will be taking part in their own debate on a hot political topic, before ending the week on Friday encouraging shoppers to have their free health check.
