Tax cut to help veterans back into work

MF

In the last election, i proudly stood on a manifesto that included the promise to help our veterans back into work. Today, it has been announced that we are delivered by making it easier for businesses to hire ex-service personnel.

The National Insurance contribution holiday for businesses who employ armed forces veterans comes into force today. This relief means that businesses who have hired veterans will not have to pay National Insurance contributions for the first year of civilian employment after leaving the armed forces.

This move is part of the Government's commitment to make the UK the best place in the world to be a veteran, and will help further incentivise employers to take advantage of the wide range of skills and experience that ex-military personnel offer.
