Mike has welcomed the Planning Inspectorate’s decision not to allow development at Tangle Tree Close in Finchley.
The plans to shoehorn three-storey houses into the site would have seen the destruction of a number of protected trees, open space lost and damage done to the suburban environment. The scheme, which has now been turned down twice, has been fought by the local Residents Association since 2006.
Speaking from his constituency office in Finchley, Mike said, “The Planning Inspector has come to absolutely the right decision. The Residents Association should be proud that their long campaign against this planning application, which I was please to have supported as a Councillor and as the MP, has been successful.”
The Inspector concluded that the scheme would have led to an unacceptable loss of trees and open space, harmed wildlife and out of character with the area.
