Library Surgery - 28/03

Unfortunately, due to parliamentary business and unforeseen commitments in parliament, it is possible that I may not be able to attend my library surgery this evening (28th March). I will do all I can to attend, but at this time I cannot commit to this.

Brexit Update

Recent days and weeks have seen Brexit explode in Parliament, as well as in the national consciousness. It has been a fast-moving situation, with new developments each and every day.

Government response following the Christchurch attack

Following the appalling act of terrorism in Christchurch, New Zealand on 15 March, the Government has today announced a boost to funding for next year’s Places of Worship Protective Security Fund. It is set to be doubled to £1.6 million.

College Farm listed as an Asset of Community Value

There has been a lot of concern about College Farm in recent months. In January, an application was made to Barnet Council to list the farm as an Asset of Community Value. This was accompanied by a petition that attracted 3,276 signatories.

Brexit Votes - 13th March

On Wednesday, there were votes in which I did not take part. I didn’t vote as I was ‘paired’ with a Labour MP who had to leave to be with their family. This is in accordance with longstanding Parliamentary convention.

Mike visits St Barnabas Church

On Friday 8th March, Mike visited St Barnabas Church at their new home in North Finchley to see how they are settling in, and to catch up on how they are mitigating fears over congregant parking.

Mike holds busy supermarket surgery

This morning, Mike held one of his regular supermarket surgeries at Sainsbury's, North Finchley. There was a busy stream of people looking to engage with their Member of Parliament on a wide-variety of issues, both local and national.
