Mike Freer and John Mann have secured a Parliamentary debate on anti-Semitism in the UK, the first of its kind instigated by backbench MPs.
Speaking from his Westminster office Mike Freer MP said, “The Coalition Government is due to report on anti-Semitism for the first time. Sadly there has been an upswing in cases of anti-Semitism in the past few years, so we need to take this opportunity to press home to Ministers that this problem is not going away.”
The debate presents an opportunity for MPs to quiz Ministers on Government policy and suggest ways that anti-Semitism can be tackled. Both Mr Freer and Mr Mann are members of the All Party Parliamentary Group Against Anti-Semitism.
The debate will be held in Westminster Hall on 20 January between 2.30pm and 5.30pm
