The Office of National Statistics have revised UK growth figures, predicting that economic growth at the start of this year will be three times higher as was previously forecast, with the UK economy now significantly larger than before the pandemic.
The statistics published today show that UK Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is 1.8 per cent higher than before the pandemic – 2 per cent higher than previously expected – putting our growth significantly above G7 countries like France and Germany, and demonstrating the strength of our economy in its recovery from the impact of Covid-19.
The Conservatives will continue to deliver on our 2023 priorities as outlined by the Prime Minister at the start of the year, one of which being to GROW THE ECONOMY by creating better-paid jobs and opportunity right across the country.
