The Government has today introduced a historic NHS Funding Bill to Parliament. This Bill will deliver on the promises we made during last month’s election to give the NHS long-term financial certainty, allowing it to provide the best care possible to patients across the country. The new law that has been introduced places a legal duty on the Government, ensuring the NHS receives an extra £33.9 billion every year by 2023-24. This cash boost, the biggest in the NHS’ history, ensures that our vital NHS has everything it needs to deliver world class care, and brings the total annual budget to £150 billion within five years.
This shows this Government’s commitment to deliver on the priorities of the British people which formed the Conservative Party’s manifesto.
